Hey there,
As this is the first entry in this blog I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself before starting it, and try to meet the objective of the blog.
I am a professional engineer in System Center Configuration Manager that until not long ago, have been serving in Microsoft as a Senior Support Engineer in SCCM 2007, 2012 SP1, R2, as well as their related technologies (WSUS, SQL, IIS, OSD, …)
My first contact with this technology (which I love and hate in equal measure) was with SMS 2003 back in 2005 with an implementation/deployment project.
Shortly after I started working on Microsoft, focusing on technologies related to the Operating System (all services that come with the system when it is installed, as well as its Core support), I learned about OSD, services, WMI, VSS, RDS, Windows Updates and WSUS, App-V, … and also suffered the beginnings of Hyper-V, a whole great adventure.
After a few years the opportunity arose to return to the evolution of that SMS that I knew, which had become SCCM 2007, and an incipient ConfigMgr 2012, on the year 2011.
Since then this has been the source of my joys, my care, and many challenges troubleshooting (many crisis too) that, thanks to the team of experts from Europe, some escalation engineers from the US, and tenacity that we all had in its resolution, were managed to solve, or documented a bug, since there was a bug in the code (although some of you may be surprised ; P)
After passing through these experiences, I have compiled some tips that I would like to share with you to try to make your life as smooth as possible with this technology.
My idea is not just talking about Configuration Manager, but also about all those technologies that make it up, which affect, or are affected by it, and sometimes complicate troubleshooting.
I just hope that this project will be useful to you, and I’d like to let you know that I’m open to suggestions, corrections, or suggestions for topics to try to adapt as much as possible to the needs of the real world, as me, like everyone, have my own.
Entries will be in Spanish and English, I hope with this to reach a greater number of people (excuse my typos as I’m not a native English speaker).
I hope this may help you.
Raul.
